Making History: Styling Maryland's Historic Inauguration
When First Lady Dawn Moore selected B.Luxe to provide VIP styling services for Governor Wes Moore's inauguration, we knew we were about to be part of a watershed moment in Maryland's history. As the state welcomed its first Black governor, our team was entrusted with creating an environment worthy of this momentous occasion.
The design brief encompassed multiple aspects of the celebration, including styling services for Governor Moore, Lieutenant Governor Miller, and the talented performers from Morton Street Dance Center. Our team approached this historic assignment with a deep understanding of its significance and a commitment to excellence in every detail.
The VIP lounge we created featured our signature luxury pieces, carefully selected to reflect both the gravitas of the occasion and Maryland's heritage. Our black velvet Kingston tufted sofas provided elegant seating areas, complemented by our gold-trimmed accent furniture and custom staging elements. The black-and-gold color scheme, punctuated by crisp white floral arrangements, created a sophisticated atmosphere that honored the traditional while embracing the modern.
A custom-designed stage backdrop featured an elegant curved wall in black, adorned with dramatic white floral installations. The state capitol dome motif, prominently displayed, served as a powerful symbol of this historic transition of leadership. Our custom dance floor, featuring the MOORE emblem with the state of Maryland outline, added a personal touch while celebrating state pride.
